  1. I only watched the first video, but found it interesting. I think he makes some excellent points on sound. However, I do think he overstates the case, and I prefer Bordwell’s term “intensified cinema.” First, most non-action movies are still quite classical. Second, while spatial comprehension is sacrificed in some of these movies, most other aspects of classical cinema remain intact (cause and effect, temporal order, goal structures etc.). Third, some of his video examples (Inception especially, but even Bad Boys) may be cut quickly, but they are actually pretty easy to follow spatially. And Inception does have many carefully framed action sequences (the no-grav hotel fights for example).
